How easy is the O.i Wrist to read and operate underwater?
The 2.4 inch (6.1 cm) full-color TFT display sits behind tempered-mineral glass and combines smart color coding with optimized screen layouts, so the most important dive information is clear at a glance. It is designed for visibility in bright and low-light conditions, and auto-dimming adjusts the brightness to the ambient light.
The NavDial with haptic feedback lets you scroll between screens and quickly reach critical dive information: scroll to move through menus, confirm with a short press and go back with a long press. Screen orientation is reversible, so you can wear the O.i on the left or right wrist. The secondary displays, Navigation Timer, Digital Compass, Settings Recap and Digital Dive Slate, can be customized.
Which decompression algorithm does it use?
The O.i Wrist uses the Bühlmann ZHL-16C decompression algorithm with Gradient Factors. You can customize the Gradient Factors and conservatism settings, whether you dive air, enriched air Nitrox or multiple gas mixes. O.i automatically prioritizes information based on each stage of your dive, and Scuba mode tracks decompression in real time.
Automatic altitude adjustment detects elevation changes and adjusts the decompression calculations. Water type can be set to Salt Water, Fresh Water or EN13319. Tissue Reset allows tissue loading information to be safely cleared when the computer is reassigned.
Can I dive Nitrox and multiple tanks?
Yes. The O.i supports up to three gas mixes with O2 from 22 to 100%, for recreational Nitrox as well as multi-tank and decompression dives. Each gas has independent PPO2 management and MOD awareness. When a more suitable gas becomes available during the dive, visual and haptic alerts tell you to switch.
Wireless air integration for up to three tanks
Pair up to three optional Oceanic Wireless Transmitters to see cylinder pressure, real-time air consumption and Gas Time Remaining on your wrist. Critical alarms, including low gas reserve, come as bright visual notifications and vibration alerts, so you don't need to watch the display constantly.
Scuba and Gauge mode
Scuba mode gives real-time decompression tracking and essential dive data. Gauge mode shows depth, time and temperature when you use the O.i as a bottom timer. The computer is depth-rated to 100 m (328 ft) for recreational and advanced scuba diving.
Digital compass with timer
The 3-axis tilt-compensated compass keeps headings accurate even when the computer is not held level, and it calibrates quickly. Open it from the main dive screen with a scroll of the NavDial, in Scuba and Gauge mode. It offers a precise heading display, a high-visibility compass rose, bearing lock, reciprocal heading display and heading memory. The integrated timer tracks elapsed time, so you can estimate distance traveled, track navigation patterns and help monitor air consumption.
What is the Digital Dive Slate?
The Digital Dive Slate is a customized underwater reference screen you create in the Oceanic+ app for iOS and Web and sync directly to the O.i. It replaces separate wet notes and suits divers and instructors alike. Use it for pre-dive plans with planned runtime, skills cues between instructor and student, team procedures and critical response steps, navigation notes, equipment configurations, dive objectives, dive site information and technical task reminders. You can switch it on or off for each dive.
Dive planning and no-fly time
Plan your dive directly on the O.i or in the Oceanic+ app on iPhone. The planner previews no-decompression limits for your planned depth, bottom time and gas. In the iOS app you can also plan with start time, PPO2 and gas FO2. After the dive, the computer calculates your personalized post-dive flight restrictions.
GPS and the Oceanic+ app
Integrated GPS records your surface entry and exit locations for the dive log, and the date and time sync automatically when the computer is connected. Over 2.4 GHz wireless, the O.i connects to the Oceanic+ app on iPhone and the Oceanic+ Web App on Mac, Windows and Android.
With Oceanic+ you manage settings, sync dive logs, create Digital Dive Slates and install firmware updates wirelessly. After each dive, Oceanic+ creates a visual log with a map of your GPS entry and exit points, plus depth, time, water temperature, NDL, ascent and tank pressure data. You can add dive site information, notes, equipment, buddies and photos to each dive. Settings sync automatically across your Oceanic+ connected devices, including Apple Watch Ultra and the Oceanic+ Dive Housing for iPhone.
How fast does it charge?
Wireless induction charging brings the battery to 80% in 30 minutes. The internal 3.7 V 800 mAh rechargeable Li-ion polymer battery has intelligent power management and, according to Oceanic, runs for up to 20 hours. Automatic sleep and surface modes reduce power consumption, and routine battery changes are no longer needed.
Mounting and languages
A silicone adjustable wrist strap and an elastic bungee kit are both included. An optional O.i Wrist Strap Kit is available separately from mid-December. The computer supports 15 onboard languages, with downloadable language packs.
"The Oceanic O.i gets the combination right: a big, readable screen, intuitive controls, and air integration. I've really enjoyed diving with it." Torben Lonne, DIVEIN
"After more than a year of testing O.i, what stands out most is the large, bright display, the convenience of the quick induction charger, and the wireless transmitter that lets me check my tank pressure at a glance." Martin Strmiska, Oceanic ambassador and professional underwater photographer
Care and sustainability
Follow the care instructions in the Oceanic user manual supplied with the computer. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery with induction charging means routine battery changes are no longer needed.
Frequently asked questions
Is a wireless transmitter included with the Oceanic O.i Wrist?
No, the Oceanic Wireless Transmitter is optional and sold separately. The O.i works without one. With transmitters, up to three at the same time, it adds cylinder pressure, air consumption and Gas Time Remaining.
Does the Oceanic O.i Wrist work with Android phones?
Yes, through the Oceanic+ Web App, which runs in any wireless-compatible browser on Android, Mac and Windows. The Oceanic+ app for iPhone needs iOS 18.0.1 or later. Both manage settings, sync dive logs, create Digital Dive Slates and install firmware updates.
How big is the Oceanic O.i Wrist?
The case measures 66.71 mm (2.63 in) wide, 47.97 mm (1.88 in) high and 24.48 mm (0.96 in) thick. Including the NavDial, it is 87.69 mm (3.45 in) wide. The display is 2.4 inch (6.1 cm).
What does air integration on a dive computer mean?
An air integrated dive computer receives your cylinder pressure wirelessly from a transmitter on the regulator first stage and shows it on your wrist. The O.i Wrist uses this data to show real-time air consumption and Gas Time Remaining next to your other dive information.
What is Gas Time Remaining (GTR)?
Gas Time Remaining estimates how much breathing gas time you have left. The O.i calculates it from your current depth and gas consumption, using pressure data from the Oceanic Wireless Transmitter.
When is the Oceanic O.i Wrist available?
Oceanic O.i wrist dive computer is available from mid-November at divestore.nl and our store in Scharendijke, Divestore de Grevelingen.
