Second Stage
The Mares SXS 62X is an ultra-compact diving regulator and one of the most compact second stages on the market. The Mares SXS 62X is unmatched in lightness and compactness. SXS stands for Second eXtra Small, underlining these attributes. Light and versatile, the Mares SXS 62X is ideal for divers who travel or those looking for a more streamlined, lightweight setup.
Due to its geometry, the Mares SXS 62X can be configured for right- or left-handed use with a few simple steps. This configuration flexibility is particularly valuable in an octopus setup.
The Mares SXS 62X second stage features a curved bypass tube with a larger diameter compared to other models. This provides high airflow at any depth. Combined with Mares' patented VAD (Vortex Assisted Design), the Mares SXS 62X delivers comfortable, natural breathing characteristics at any depth. The air bypass tube conveys air to the mouthpiece, creating a swirling vortex with a low-pressure centre that keeps the diaphragm down during inhalation, for very sensitive, easy breathing at all depths.
Mares has also designed a new deflector to optimise the Venturi effect and reduce the risk of free-flow. This ensures smoother and more comfortable inhalation even at depths greater than 100m.
The Mares SXS 62X second stage features a lateral exhaust tube for bubble-free visibility in all diving positions, an easy-to-use purge button, and a Superflex hose. It is made from ultralight technopolymer.
An octopus version is also available. Its slim, compact shape allows the Mares Octopus SXS to fit easily into the pocket of a BCD.
First Stage
Mares has combined the SXS second stage with the proven 62X first stage. The compact 62X first stage features all of the innovative technologies from Mares, making it one of the lightest and most compact first stages in the Mares range.
The AST system (Auto Sealing Technology) is a pneumatic system that protects the inside of the first stage against water and sediment entering the first stage. This keeps the first stage dry and protected at all times.
The Natural DFC (Dynamic Flow Control) guarantees a consistently high airflow at any depth. The DFC minimises the intermediate pressure drop during inhalation, stabilising gas delivery at the highest level, especially under extreme conditions and at greater depths.
The 62X first stage features DFC LP ports for high airflow at any depth. The angled LP and HP ports ensure optimal hose routing. The 62X first stage is a lightweight, compact diaphragm-controlled first stage with a pearl chrome finish.
